Missing Mortgage Interest Form (1098)

Mortgage interest paid is provided by your financial institution, which you make monthly payments to. Form 1098 is typically mailed to you by the first or second week of February. You can also download the form from your financial institution’s website when it becomes available.

Note: If you changed lenders during the year, you would need two separate 1098 forms, one from each lender. This usually happens when you refinance with a different bank or if your current bank sells your mortgage to another bank.
